Music: Urban Mix 101 presented by Itech 4 Life SolutionsDetails: An intro to the fundamentals of Digital Audio Recording and Music production. Students will be familiarized with the Protools(DigiDesign) work environment as well as the Reasons workspace. Students will also be introduced to an analog mixing console and learn how the digital and analog systems correlate in a typical recording environment. Music: Seattle 4 Culture Presents: Seattle Meets Tokyo: Modern Jazz ConnectionsDetails:Seattle Meets Tokyo: Modern Jazz Connections is a collaborative improvisation project between Seattle and Tokyo musicians. Featuring Seattle native Kevin McHugh on piano and special guest Akihiko Ando (Tokyo) on alto sax and effects, they are joined by Naomi Siegel (trombone), Geoff Harper (bass) and Evan Woodle (drums). Through original compositions, our group will explore the boundaries between free jazz, Japanese noise and written/improvised forms. This project was supported, in part, by an award from 4Culture.
