The state championship-winning Franklin High School mock trial team has a chance to compete in the National High School Mock Trial Championship – but they need your help getting there.

The team is trying to raise $15,000 to get the team to Reno, Nev., by May 10. The team is very close to that goal, having raised close to $12,000 of the total as of Wednesday morning.

"After 15 years of hard work, 15 years of refusing to give up, and 15 years of placing just behind private schools, we brought the right trophy home. We believed we could, and after 15 years, we finally did," wrote team booster Erin Byrnes on the GoFundMe fundraiser page.

The money will go toward airfare, food, supplies, and more. And the team projects the total cost will be even more than $15,000. If there's any money leftover, the funds will go toward supporting the team for future events.
