"Helping Hands Seattle volunteers to serve up to 100+ [of] our homeless friends a hot meal at Operation Nightwatch (International District) on the second Thursday of every month. We need a team of 5-10 people to prepare, cook, serve food, and clean up. We will cook different meals depending on what is available in the kitchen. Usually a main dish, a side dish, sandwiches, desserts/fruits.
"Timing is flexible and any help is welcomed so you can go early and leave early or arrive late. Wear comfy casual clothes and closed toe shoes. Show up and we will show you the ropes."

"PUSHOUT is a feature length documentary that takes a deep dive into the lives of Black girls and the practices, cultural beliefs, and policies that disrupts one of the most important factors in girls' lives—education.
"This evening is both for people who have and have not seen the documentary. We will open with a look at what the treatment of Black girls looks like in Seattle schools, followed by a second free screening of PUSHOUT. "Join Wa Na Wari for an artist talk with exhibiting artist Jaleesa Johnston. Johnston will talk about her current exhibition and her practice as a performance artist.
"Jaleesa Johnston is an interdisciplinary artist currently living and working in the Pacific Northwest. She holds a BA from Vassar College and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Her work explores the black female body as both subject and material through performance, video, photography, sculpture and collage. She has been the recipient of the AICAD Post-Graduate Teaching Fellowship, Centrum's Emerging Artist Residency and Open Signal's New Media Fellowship. Jaleesa has exhibited her work in cities along the west coast, including San Francisco, Portland and Seattle, and she currently facilitates workshops and classes in new media and performance art."

"Initially the brainchild of electro acoustic pioneer/composer Richard Karpen and Cuong Vu, Indigo Mist has become a vehicle for the musical musings of a group of forward reaching artists with tendencies towards experimentation. Having crossed paths over the years as University of Washington music faculty, the group is currently comprised Vu, Karpen, electro-acoustic composer and DXArts director Juan Pampin, Ted Poor, whose prodigious drumming has recently been enlisted by Chris Thile and Andrew Bird, and 15 time Grammy winner, bassist/producer Steve Rodby.
Critics have described the Indigo Mist's 2014 recording as '…gorgeous, far out, haunting, and evocative…In a word: special' (Outside Inside Out), 'Mysterious, provocative, fanciful' (Something Else). Stereophile states, 'Cuong Vu is a postmodern jazz trumpeter…[pianist/composer] Richard Karpen is director of the School of Music at the University of Washington…When these two got together, the shit hit the fan.'"The Royal Room is all ages before 10 p.m.
