This weekend-long event runs Fri—Sun at two locations (Washington Hall & the Crocodile). Musicians and other Performers include: Souls Of Mischief, New Track City, AtLas, CHAMEL, Beats to the Rhyme, NajeasBeats and DJ Luvva J Profresha, DJ TOPSPIN aka BLENDIANA JONES, DJ Vitamin D, DJs DV One and Fever One, DJ Qbert, and Egyptian Lover.Guest speakers include: Supreme La Rock, Asia One, Popmaster Fabel, CROS1 of the Freestyle Session and Armory, Alien Ness: International Pres. "Standing Up Against Hate tells the stories of the African American women who enlisted in the newly formed Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) in World War II. They quickly discovered that they faced as many obstacles in the armed forces as they did in everyday life. However, they refused to back down. They interrupted careers and left family, friends, and loved ones to venture into unknown and sometimes dangerous territory. They survived racial prejudice and discrimination with dignity, succeeded in jobs women had never worked before, and made crucial contributions to the military war effort.
"Mary Cronk Farrell's books have been honored with the SPUR Award for Best Juvenile Fiction, and as Notable Social Studies Books for Young People and NY Public Library Best Books for Teens. Mary speaks at schools, libraries, and women's and family workshops. She lives in Spokane, Washington."

"Michael Powers was born in New York City in 1960, and grew up in the San Francisco Bay area. His musical career began as therapy, when at the age of 15 he took up strumming the guitar to strengthen his wrist after a skateboard accident. Following his graduation from Berkeley High School when he was 15-and-a-half, he moved to Seattle and frequented local jam sessions, keeping his fingers on the guitar strings and his mind on making music to reach a wider audience.
"Jazz in the City at the Frye Art Museum is a free, bi-monthly performance series produced in partnership with Ariel Media, with a purpose to celebrate the art form of jazz music and its long-standing influence and vibrancy in the city of Seattle. The Frye's First Hill location is adjacent to Seattle's historic Jackson Street Jazz District: a combination of The Central District and the current International District, which comprised the historic China Town, Japan Town and Filipino Town. The Jackson Street Jazz District nurtured such renowned artists as Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, Ernestine Anderson, and Jimi Hendrix."
