Rainier Valley Food Bank is launching its "Food Is Love" campaign to raise $14,000 between February 9 and February 20. The campaign is needed to continue purchasing food to provide the balanced diet that is nutritious and culturally-appropriate with fresh produce and protein to supplement food donations. Last year 50,000 more people were fed by the Rainier Valley Food Bank than in 2013 for a total of 196,000 people.
"This past year shattered all food records at the foodbank. Unfortunately, financial donations haven't kept pace with the amount of need" said Sam Osborne, Executive Director at Rainier Valley Food Bank.
"This Valentines Holiday I encourage you to contribute to the foodbank in honor of your loved ones."
