Heads up South Seattle! This weekend is SeaFair. The event is at Genesee Park and along Lake Washington Boulevard near the park (and on the lake itself). Learn about all the ways it will effect traffic and be super loud — planes, jets (Blue Angels, etc.), hydroplane racing, and other stuff — on the event website. Public transit will be affected by the gazillion people trying to get in and out of the Rainier Valley all weekend.

"Join residents, workers, and community members of Seattle's Chinatown-International District at a rally and march to protest the increasing gentrification, and displacement of small businesses, elders, and low-income tenants.
"The August 1st rally and march, which will begin at 5pm in Hing Hay Park, is a collaborative effort by the CID Coalition/#HumbowsNotHotels, Asians for Black Lives, PARISOL/Pacific Rim Solidarity Network, #WeAreKeiro, and other CID community groups."

"We can no longer watch as our friends and neighbors are torn from their homes by the Trump Administration. We can also no longer wait for our politicians to decide when the right time is to solve this crisis. ICE violates the very being of our most vulnerable communities and they must be abolished, alongside all detention. We are the solution. Every day we bear the guilt and pain of watching our nation descend into fascism.

"In a Silent Way is one of Miles Davis' most influential records of his storied career. Produced by Teo Macero, the album was recorded in one session date on February 18, 1969, at CBS 30th Street Studio in New York City. Incorporating elements of classical sonata form, Macero edited and arranged Davis's recordings from the session to produce the album. Marking the beginning of his "Electric period" In a Silent Way has been regarded by music writers as Davis's first fusion recording, following a stylistic shift toward the genre in his previous records and live performances.
