Candlelight Vigil for Charles Chappelle to be Held at Rainier Beach High School

Rainier Beach High School has lost a close friend this past week. Students, family members and community members will be gathering and holding a candlelight vigil for Charles Chappelle tomorrow, Wednesday December 10th from 11:25am-12pm.

Charles was a local homeless man who lived right behind the school for over 20 years. Students grew to love and understand him. Charles wasn't a "homeless man" to students and the staff at Rainier Beach; he was family. Students always talked to him and he taught students the value and practice of not littering. This loss hurts a lot of students, and the student body wants to honor him in any way we can.

The students want to invite the local community to join us tomorrow as we grieve the loss and honor a dear member of our community.

WHERE: Meet in RBHS cafeteria at 11:25am —We will then proceed outside to "CHARLES' ALLEY"

Time: 11:25am-12pm

There has been a GoFundMe account established to support the cost of a funeral for Charles.
