South End Weekend Review

Try telling South Seattlites summer doesn't officially begin until June 20th. From Rainier Beach to Mt. Baker, this weekend saw locals taking full advantage of the city's recent balmy weather.
On Friday one of Seattle's most popular ice cream purveyors opened a branch in Columbia City, giving kids free cones for the first couple hours.
On Saturday, dance was on full display as the Northwest Tap Connection participated in the Rhythm of the Sole at the Paul Robeson Performing Arts Center at Rainier Beach High School.
Later that night, the Hillman City Collaboratory hosted its 3rd annual Beautiful Music Fundraiser and Potluck featuring food by BIG Chickie and dessert by Molly Moon's Ice cream, along with lots of dancing.
On Sunday more kid friendly fun could be had at the FOCS Arts Fest 2017 at Washington Hall. Global and local performers danced and played music.
The weekend ended on a high note with the 10th Annual Honk! Fest making an appearance in Columbia City on Sunday afternoon.The free family friendly festival included local and international bands.
With a summer packedwith parades and festivals the conundrum facing residents this season is just what event they should attend.
