Organized and led by students from teacher Jon Hughes' leadership class, all of South Shore School's students walked out of class at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning to protest gun violence and school shootings. Students from the Rainier Beach based K-8 public school joined with thousands of their peers from across Seattle, as well as those in New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Columbine High School, Newtown, Conn and several other cities, who emptied out of their classrooms at 10 a.m. in coordinated demonstrations.
